The Story of Synaperge

In August 2023, Henglong Dang, deeply invested in leadership, innovation, and interdisciplinary dialogue, founded Synaperge—an initiative with a bold mission: to create a platform where youth could not only talk about change but also build it. The name “Synaperge,” inspired by the words synapses and emerge, captured the spirit of convergence: bridging disciplines, amplifying youth voices, and turning novel ideas into meaningful action.

What began as a small online forum quickly evolved. By October 2023, Synaperge hosted its first seminar, titled “Innovation Across Borders,” where individuals from diverse backgrounds discussed the implications of AI in global education systems. Unlike conventional lecture-style webinars, Synaperge emphasized real-time discourse—members debated, ideated, and left with actionable takeaways.

Throughout 2024, Synaperge expanded beyond seminars:

• In February, members launched the “Problem Lab” series, where interdisciplinary teams tackled real-world challenges—from mental health accessibility to sustainable design.

• In April, Synaperge lauched its first operating website.

• By summer, Synaperge launched its first in-person Innovation Retreat, bringing together 35  members disseminating the ethical usage of AI.

By early 2025, Synaperge had grown to over 60 active members, with a rotating Board of Directors and volunteer coordinators. It had become known not only for thoughtful seminars but also for incubating community-led projects with measurable impact.

In summer 2025, Synaperge debuted its official logo, a symbol of its maturity and forward motion.

Now, Synaperge continues to expand its reach and refine its purpose. Under Henglong’s leadership, the organization remains rooted in its founding beliefs:

• Innovation is not exclusive—it’s teachable.

• Real impact requires collaboration, not competition.

• Youth have the insight—and responsibility—to shape the future.

What started as a vision in a notebook has become a thriving network of community members building, leading, and learning together. And Synaperge is just getting started.
